THAT is my brother

I love Brandon Arny. Tonight, I came home and said, "Hey Brandon, want to come to a Halloween Party with me?" And as Brandon usually does, it was kind of the "mmmmm, okay(why not)." So we dressed up into out cycling gear (which just so happens to be another example of Brandon's "mmmmm okay's") and headed out for the party. We met up with some girls on my inner-tube water polo team and got in line to get into the party. Now, unfortunately even in Idaho, Halloween gives people a false sense of "I can change my standards for a night" which was something I didn't expect to happen. Brandon and I were disgusted, literally. We could not believe what some people, girls inparticular, were dressed up as. Well, Brandon and I didn't really want to be at a party, partially because we had to pay, anyways so we debated leaving individually. Well, the girls we went with were getting impatient in line so they jumped up and we just stayed. They came back a few times to get us to join them closer to the front and we REJECTED(!) them. Then came the great part, the girls tried the girlie flirty thing and Brandon and I just straight up said no. At that point we were both thinking, "honestly why are we here?" So Brandon says, "You wanna go?" and so we did. I love friends with standards and the influence and strength they are to me.
Next story! Tonight there was a 5k around campus at midnight, and naturally I wanted to do it... so I did. Well, I got there and did a warm up lap and then the race was getting ready to start. I was just going to run with one of my FHE sisters but there was a group that had a shopping cart. Now, in the shoppin cart was a girl that had injured her leg earlier that week that was planning on running it, and her friends had decorated it as the Magic School Bus. (I will try to get pictures). I decided to run with them also, and we did. We finished it in 33 minutes and it was great. We won an award I think for the best costume and it was just a great thing to be a part of. I was bigger than me. One of my favorite parts was when I finished and Chelsea was there. It wasn't that she was there that was the best part but what she said to me. She said, "I saw the Nacho Libre guy and hoped it was you, because he was funny. I saw a few other guys and thought they were you, but when I saw the Magic School Bus, I thought THAT is my brother." That just makes me feel good. I love the gospel.

Zachary Cordell,
Why am I so blessed to have 2 wonderful sons and 3 outstanding daughters? I have loved reading your blog and I'm thankful that you know who you are and the price that has been paid (the Atonement)for each of us. God's love is all encompassing and all powerful. I know you have been touched by the Spirit many times and that you are destined to do many great things for the Lord's kingdom. You have a divine destiny with many important things to achieve. Thanks for being you-I do love you!
