Just Run.....

Today was the Reindeer Romp 5k of Jamestown, North Carolina. It was wonderful. A beautiful 55 degrees, overcast and the road still a little damp from the past nights' precipitation and here I was with Abram, Wendy and Chelsea to get "PHYSICAL, physical"....... There was suppose to be music with that. It was apparent that Chelsea was disappointed that we didn't get shirts because we were literally among the last to register. So we started off a little after 9, donning numbers 45, 46, 295, and 296. I think (How's that for ethos).
After Abram and I dance around while running, both high stepping and Irish clogging kicks taking place, I try to maneuver my way through the droves of people just trying to find a group that I could keep pace with. We all had our own pace that we wanted, so we kind of all split up. Well, I ended up passing the running Christmas tree, the reindeer and two elves, and I will tell you I tried to escape on of the elves as soon as possible. Her bells were giggling and throwing my cadence off. Anyway, we end up finishing. Everybody did awesome and I think that we all hit our goals. It was really fun to be with everybody and "pick on people" and just have fun at the race. I was really excited to find out that I got 3rd in my age group coming in at around 22 min and 40 some-odd seconds. We're going to do another 5k New Years night I believe.
Possibly the best news that I received there was that there was a man training for the Ironman Triathlons and he is giving me a free road bike frame and fork. I mean, how lucky is that?
