late night thought

I wanted to write this down but it's too late to play piano and someone is sleeping in my basement that I am not used to so the guitar is also out of the picture. I figured I could just write the words now so that I may put music to it later, we'll see.

I've come to find that time is never wasted
When I've had a dream, chosen it,
and chasing...
wound up in some location
I felt was not my destination.

Though the daisy field and lemonade stand
Were not, simply put, in high demand,
I seemed to find that a flower picked
Created a memory wherein could stick
The lesson of a lifetime.

Time for once, and learned for all
I felt as though the mortal stall
Had blocked me in and held me still
Stopping my from doing my dreamt on will
and placing me in stone.

Stopping me from reaching my
golden sun and vibrant sky
When all I was really meant to see
was the view that'd been encompassing.

And had I not raised up myself
from dusty floorboards to a higher shelf
I'd never have known the light of day
except what it had beat upon me.

Not lit the world or gave the life
that I'd so "frivolously lost with strife"
Yet set higher up because a dream I'd dreamt
I found that I'd a vision lent.

And so I've found that time is never wasted
