Life is grand

So this was in one of my mission buddies physics book... supposedly. I thought it enjoyable.

The drive train of a bicycle that has wheels 67.3 cm in
diameter and pedal cranks 17.5 cm long. Zachary Cordell pedals at a steady
angular rate of 81.0 rev/min. The chain engages with a front sprocket 15.2 cm in
diameter and a rear sprocket 7.15 cm in diameter.

Now I have no clue what the question is or the answer for that matter but it seems to be the case with many math things.

Well, I probably should report on the Halloween Half Marathon in Provo. I will tell you that it was quite the experience. Running in a two spandex shirts, and two spandex shorts under your slacks and button down shirt is... memorable. Everyone thought that the briefcase would be the nuisance but it was definitely the pants. That pocket protector was fine and I am proud to report that there were no casualties. The thing is, since I was Bill Gates I am pretty sure I could have just bought the whole Zebra pen company with the money in my hand if I wanted. It was a lot of fun. The other racers were betting in regards as to when they thought that I would ditch the briefcase. The funny thing is, it wasn't mine so I had no choice. People asked me before we started if I trained with the briefcase. Psh! I had never run more than 6 miles in my life.

So I finished it alright, and people were amazed that the briefcase made it as well. Looking back I can agree as to the absurdity of that idea. But things like that make memories.

We did an indoor triathlon at BYU-Idaho November 15 and it was a pretty good time. I definitely enjoy the outdoors better. I ended up taking second place and I will say that I was beat by 5 minutes. I decided however that I want to win this next one on December 5th. I am getting tired of saying "I could." Potential means I haven't done anything yet. That's what my high school lacrosse coach would always say.

I am starting to switch my mindset and am starting to see that my life is going to be completely different in the next few months. I will be living at home and going to a college that is not based on, grounded within or even remotely welcoming to the ideals of Christ's doctrine. I know that the Lord will be able to use me for quite a bit. Confidence in the Lord is key, and an understanding of what He expects of me is even more important.

Something they spoke about in church today was, in the Book of Mormon, how Lehi had a vision of the tree of life. It dawned upon me that this vision was the dream of a father for the exaltation of his family. I went to the Salt Lake Temple on Saturday and was able to make promises to the Lord to strengthen myself and all those around me. It is amazing to see the sacrifices made by those that have come before us. And they did it to help us come closer to God. That building is a dedicated and set apart House of the Lord. One thing that has stuck with me since I was there is that, to the Lord our word is still our bond. He asks for no signed contracts, just for simple conversion.
